Our hotel was basic but clean, right across the road from thekoh samui ice bar and a 15 minute walk to the beach. Once we dropped our bags off we headed to the beach for a day of chilling! I hid in the shade with a book while my friend lay out soaking in the sun (talk about ginger problems). It was great to sit, do nothing and take in the atmosphere after being surrounded by the hustle and bustle of Bangkok for the previous few days.

Everything was made of ice, even our drinks were served in glasses made from ice. The detail in the sculptures was surprisingly intricate. It was however a lot smaller than I had expected. That aside we had a good look around, sat in and on the various sculptures as we sipped our tasty cocktails. Once the cold started getting to us we headed out to the beer garden. The atmosphere was great, the cocktails very fancy and tasted just as good as they looked and there was great entertainment in the form of a magician. Yes old school, but highly entertaining. Definitely worth a trip if you’re on the island.
